Photographer Terry Partlon photo's of NS Turtles

A new shop opened up in Haleiwa in October 2008. Terry Partlon shoots Turtles as well as other sea creatures for your viewing pleasure. See his web site at: http://www.turtlesandmoregallery.com He's located in Haleiwa next to Grass Skirts on the mauka side of Kamehameha Hwy in the heart of Haleiwa (also across from Stortos Deli) or at 66-218 Kamehameha Hwy, in Haleiwa. And since this is a Turtle Blog spot for Haleiwa, I wanted to highlight his work. Terry can be reached at 808-741-3510.

October 2008 Pics

I weigh about 300 lbs.

But do I look like I really care?

Dang . . . the Tide's coming in

I should have gotten more out of the water. Now I gotta move again. Juss when I was getting comfortable! Grrrrrr

Here Turtle is racing back into the water after being spooked

A few minutes later he pops his head up with another turtle validating his safety

A beautiful polynesian wahine walking past another land mark in Hawaii

I'm following my mom to learn how to get out of working

She said if she stayed home, she'd have to clean house so she decided to go to the beach

Turtle Tails of 2008

I am a wahine turtle. You can tell from the size of my tail . . . Do you think makeUp would help?

Wahine = female

I am a Kane Turtle! Kane = Male See how much bigger my tail is? I never was a MakeUp kinda guy!

Coming out of the water

Resting just a bit

Then back to work

Pictures ready to transfer to your postcard

Finally everybody went home

Now I can sleep

K . . . pau sleep. Now I gotta go eat something!

September 2008 photo's

Here one is just coming out of the water

Here they're sleeping on the shore at night time. Often there are up to 10+ turtles in all sizes sleeping on the beach.

Here's one when it's still in the water deciding whether or not to beach itself

Always keep your distance when approaching a turtle to insure their safety. NOAA wants us to keep a fair distance and not to feed them. Remember Honey Girl? Someone chose not to respect her and killed her. For more on Honey Girl see: http://honeygirlrewardfund.com/

I covered my tracks so U won't know how I got here!

I'm out of steam. I just can't crawl any further. I'm Pau.

Floating is not one of my strong points!

That's my date behind me!

I don't know how to talk . . . I'm a Honu! and honu's don't talk good!

Shhhh! Someone's coming. I'm pretending to be a rock! I hope I don't fart!

Shhhh . . . Be still, someone is taking our picture

OK girls, where U wanna go today?

I've eaten just about enuf sand today!

Follow me girls, I think I saw a luncheon special on today by the coral rocks ahead.

Humans . . they all look alike!

No badda me . . . I said, "I'm thinking"
